This week's pick is pineapple. Available all year round this tropical delight is coming into peak season. With a vibrant and juicy flavour pineapple has the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. 

How to pick:

Pineapple's stop ripening once they are picked so choose one that has a fragrant sweet smell at the stem end. The pineapple should be heavy for it's size and free of soft spots and bruises.

How to store:

Pineapple's can be left at room temperature in a cool place. This will not make it any sweeter but it will help it become softer and sweeter.
