Bright green, crisp and crunchy! Granny's are known for their distinctive green flesh and their very tart flavour and are usually the first apple that comes to mind for baking the perfect apple pie. The Australian native was discovered in 1868 and has been growing strong ever since. This all purpose apple is also great for a snack or to make a sauce.
How to pick:
Choose Granny's that are firm to touch and have a bright green shiny skin. Avoid granny's that are bruised or have a brown appearance.
How to store:
If eating granny's raw they are best kept in the fridge to maintain their freshness. Granny's that are being cooked can be left out of the fridge for a few days before using.
