Cherry Truss Tomatoes

This week we are celebrating vine ripened cherry truss tomatoes. These little babies might be smaller than your average tomato but they have an amazingly sweet and rich flavour that is hard to beat. 

Tomatoes have been around for thousands of years but cherry truss tomatoes are a fairly recent development and have only been available in Australia for the past six years. They are ripened on the vine and then packaged directly into punnets with their stems still attached. Like all types of tomatoes they are available all year round and are a good source of Vitamin B, Iron, Zinc and Potassium.

They can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks but make sure you bring them to room temperature before eating them to make the most out of their sweet and rich flavour.

Enjoy them fresh in salads or try roasting them in the oven for an even with a little salt, pepper and olive oil for an even sweeter taste.
