Cauliflower is in season!

Often overshadowed by it's close relative broccoli, cauliflower is packed full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. The traditional variety is a pale white but when in season cauliflower comes in a riot of colours.

How to pick:

Cauliflower heads should be firm and tightly closed. The heads should be pale in colour without any dark spots. 

How to store:

Keep it tightly wrapped in the drawer of your refrigerator.

Cooking tip:

Roast the heads in the oven drizzled with olive oil and a sprinkle of cummin or season with salt and pepper and a squeeze of lemon.

For a low carb, low calerie and high in fibre alternative to traditional mash potato try mashing the vegetable. Add some salt and pepper, butter & milk.  Or spice it up with some garlic or cheese.
